RONA

Rona came to us after her owner became seriously ill and was no longer able to care for her or the two other dogs in the home. When Rona first arrived, she was in season, so we had to keep her separate from the others. Most of our pens are mixed, and even though many of our dogs are neutered, it’s not ideal to mix them with a female in season.

We were also told that she could be unsure around other dogs, so we felt it best to keep her on her own until after her spay. She was a little uncertain when she first arrived at the kennels, but she’s come a long way since then. Now, Rona is a happy, confident girl who always greets you with a wagging tail and is more than happy to enjoy a cuddle.

She can still be a bit unsure with new dogs and may show some dominant behaviour, so slow, careful introductions are important. That said, since she was sterilized she has share her pen with different dogs and has got along well with all of them.

Rona is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and has a passport. She’s also had a full blood test, is regularly treated for fleas, ticks, and worms, and is on heartworm prevention.
